Recently, as the Legislative Yuan reviews major bills, various political parties have organized activities around the Legislative Yuan to express their demands. To ensure the safety of legislators in exercising their duties, the National Police Agency (NPA) has instructed police departments of all municipalities and county (city) governments to proactively contact legislators within their jurisdictions, apply for the deployment of security officers to protect the legislators' personal safety, residences, service offices, and workplaces in accordance with the regulations. Additionally, the NPA has tasked the Taipei City Police Department and the Sixth Special Police Corps with strengthening security measures around the Legislative Yuan, enhancing threat alerts, and preventing incidents.
The NPA emphasizes that for the assembly around the Legislative Yuan, it will adhere to principles of legal administration and administrative neutrality, strictly preventing conflicts and disputes. Violent behavior will be met with firm enforcement of the law, and no one will be allowed to challenge public authority. The NPA urges the public to express their opinions and demands in a rational manner.
